Director: Tomáš Kudrna
In the village of Kvetusin, near Cesky Krumlov, a unique teaching facility was established in the 1950s. Teacher Miroslav Dedic founded a school for children from Roma families. Thanks to his efforts and motivated by a personal interest to help poor families with childcare, over time the school also established a dormitory facility. At first the pupils were mostly here voluntarily, but later children began to be violently torn away from their families. As part of this “re-education”, letters sent by parents to their children were sometimes hidden. Former pupils reminisce about their stay with both love and bitterness. In this sensitive documentary, we hear from alumni of the school as well as the man behind this controversial method of education.
