November 5, 1983, a band of five Italians break into the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest. The loot are seven of the most important paintings of the Renaissance. After a daring escape, the investigators retrieve the stolen goods and capture those responsible, but they come across a tangle of criminal networks, politics and intelligence that only after 35 years will begin to glimpse.
