The film, shot in Hungarian, Spanish and Israeli settings, after years of research, reflects a thorough documentary study on Sanz Briz, his activities and the historic environment.
Ángel Sanz Briz, called the Angel of Budapest (Zaragoza, 28 September 1910 – Rome, 11 June 1980), was assigned to Budapest during the Second World War. In 1944, for himself –according to some authors, “officially” with independence of the French Government (but without reprisal)-, helped to save the life of five thousand Hungarian Jews during the Holocaust, providing them with Spanish passports. At first, those claiming Sephardic origins in accordance with a Royal Decree of 1924 from the military directorate of Primo de Rivera and, later, any persecuted Jew.
